Is it just me....or

I have to say today watching coverage of the Prince phillip funeral that I wanted to break out my yellow castle.  I've never seen Windsor Castle before (although I have seen white castle!) and it was gorgeous and had all the cool features that made the yellow castle so cool. The turrett for loading into the car/carriage, the green interior grounds, the multiple indentations in the walls for shooting arrows...that was just cool to see!  Lego really achieved perfection with this set...I'll never forget just staring at it and wanting it soooo bad!

But even better ..

3 best castles ever!!!!

More manual labor!

 Manual labor! Part 2

I found more manuals to sort and pitch as they  can all be found online.  Its funny to me how the internet brings out this urge to show others what u have and even if you don't start out with the intent to brag, it still could look like it or deep down inside become the primary reason to share pics. The other thing the internet does is mKe you think someone would pay all this money for whT you have when in reality, its a kids toy or a kids instruction book for a toy, it's only worth S much to you.   And if I want to throw these manuals out because I don't have room, why would someone want to clutter their space with the  same stuff.   So although it could appear to be bragging, I only post the pics because I love looking at the pics and i aM amazed at the deals i got on most sets!!  Here was the latest pics

So I post the pics and I think what did I do with the legos I had, what did I have different than what others have done?  People cod find pics like these on google images all day..  And the reality is no one could care that I have these sets and I didn't add anything special that others haven't posted before.

So I guess the point I'm trying to make is that unless what you have is special or different, whether its your traits or unique mocs or your work in life, unless it's darn interesting, Noone cares, they're busy with their own things.  So its ok to be proud of your collection or even brag with moderation. But so important to try to add your contributions to enhance everyone's experience.

My answer to what kind of legos do you like

Ok, this is probably my weirdest post, but I find classic space legos so relaxing...simple elements that can be so creative....People often ask me, "what kind of legos do you like?".

These pics came from Google images, brickshelf and vintage ads websites
These are the best pics I've found of the classic space 1978-83 period of lego...oddly, I only had  few of these growing up, then I found ebay in 2004 and was so happy to get these sets.  I don't know what it is but every minifig smiled,  no violence occurred and there was a sense of discovery and cooperation amongst the minifigs.  But after you built the kit, the last page would often show that model in the same context of the sand surface and star dotted black emptiness of endless open space....ahhh the good old days, endless discoveries to be had.  I wish lego would bring back the color scheme and classic space motif!!!  They do have space, but the pieces are big, multiple colors and just don't show tge imaginative scenes the old ones did!

Foundational lego piece

It seems like now days anyone who talks about legos has a certain style or theme of legos that they like and reference in their mind.  But I think there's a generation of builders that trace their lego memories back to one piece that wS the center and foundation of legos and that is the green baseplate.

It could be the foundation of a house, an uneven terrain for lego cars to manage, a massive car or wagon when 4 wheels were attached, or the balcony of a huge tower.  It was like kindergarten or a rite of passage where any lego collection started

Any model from lego or moc starts with pieces coming together in perfect order and sequence, the key is the solid foundation for all other blocks to build upon .
