TECHNICally i asked for a JOINT in 1984

 Ok, as a kid in the 70s and 80s, the technic lines symbolized being smart, being older and wiser and buying more expensive sets.  I've mentioned before how they were always at the back of the catalog and always out of reach except at Christmas maybe...

But when I put together my only technic set I built, I was fascinated by the rack and pinion steering made possible by the universal joints.  I think that part symbolized being so smart if you could figure out how to make a car with it...so I had built my only technic model

When I built that truck, I thought I was the smartest, so I thought I'd move on to the big stuff, the universal joint....and the only place I knew I could get that at an affordable price...the lego mail order service!!!

And then via the mail it came, my own real universal joint...the reality is I was never smart enough to hook it to some rods and move it around...I'll be smart enough some day...

Ironically 2 years ago someone made an artificial knee with universal joints as a main component...the person asked me if I knew what a universal joint was and I had to chuckle...yeah I know but could I make or use something with it...heck no!

Tribute to 9/11 victims and survivors

 I was remembering going up on the world trade towers in 1994.  I remember feeling my palms sweat just looking over the edge and seeing the umbrellas at the picnic tables  at the base of the towers.  I remember wanting to eat at windows on the world someday and look out at the city lights.  I never got to do this.  .

I had 2 lego sterilite "towers" when I started my lego room.  One day, by random chance I placed A minifig on the one tower...I had. Non lego part, but the minifig fit tobscale.to scale.

This pic just gave me such a sense of sadness thinking how terrified people had to be looking down fron the towers

I love lego planes and airports.  There is another backdrop that always makes me think of 911...an eerie picture that makes me remember watching that 2nd plane hitb and realizing it was purposely done

And everything i see the backdrop with a lego plane i get chills and think of these pics above 

I'd forgotten all this til recently seeing a lego masters commercial where a building was blown up

So I just want to pay respects to the people who perished on 911 and hope people never forget that day....I know I never will and pray for anyone that was in it.

Is it just me....or

 I have to say today watching coverage of the Prince phillip funeral that I wanted to break out my yellow castle.  I've never seen Windsor Castle before (although I have seen white castle!) and it was gorgeous and had all the cool features that made the yellow castle so cool. The turrett for loading into the car/carriage, the green interior grounds, the multiple indentations in the walls for shooting arrows...that was just cool to see!  Lego really achieved perfection with this set...I'll never forget just staring at it and wanting it soooo bad!

More manual labor!

 Manual labor! Part 2

I found more manuals to sort and pitch as they  can all be found online.  Its funny to me how the internet brings out this urge to show others what u have and even if you don't start out with the intent to brag, it still could look like it or deep down inside become the primary reason to share pics. The other thing the internet does is mKe you think someone would pay all this money for whT you have when in reality, its a kids toy or a kids instruction book for a toy, it's only worth S much to you.   And if I want to throw these manuals out because I don't have room, why would someone want to clutter their space with the  same stuff.   So although it could appear to be bragging, I only post the pics because I love looking at the pics and i aM amazed at the deals i got on most sets!!  Here was the latest pics

So I post the pics and I think what did I do with the legos I had, what did I have different than what others have done?  People cod find pics like these on google images all day..  And the reality is no one could care that I have these sets and I didn't add anything special that others haven't posted before.

So I guess the point I'm trying to make is that unless what you have is special or different, whether its your traits or unique mocs or your work in life, unless it's darn interesting, Noone cares, they're busy with their own things.  So its ok to be proud of your collection or even brag with moderation. But so important to try to add your contributions to enhance everyone's experience.
