Getting to the heart of my lego room

There comes a point where you realize that if you collect or have a bunch of "things" that maybe there is a deep reason..  I have and love looking at lego pics on internet, I have thousands that are so amazing...I could look at them over and over.  But its only certain types, lego town and classic/neoclassic space.  And usually the pics I like the most are related to models I made or that I played with with friends...or building with legos from a box while sitting on my grandmas floor while spending the night.  It wasn't so much the legos per se...it was the fun times and the people that were around me; it was being young with unlimited dreams and being in safe and fun environments where I was loved and taken care of by parents and grandparents.  I found 2 blogs on the Internet this year that expressed this feeling better than I could express on my own...

Jesus Diaz in gizmodo jan 28, 2008 wrote how the sets themselves weren't the main thing that made legos great, "it's what happened around them that made them special"

From Jesus Diaz on Gizmodo, Jan 28, 2008

This person is saying the same thing im trying to verbalize, but better than I can say it.  Legos themselves are nothing but things...its the fun of putting them together and the good memories of childhood that make the pieces come alive.  Its more the spirit of creativity and fun and potential  as well as memories of building with people that brings lego room and lego mocs to life.
And this is what I think the heart of lego and my lego room is.
May the true spirit and meaning of lego and Christmas this week be in everyone's heart!
