Worst off brand blocks
The non lego brands I've tried!
The model above didn't fit and the center was just a large cutout piece.
This tyco phone was not able to be taken apart
rite aid had the above models that I did enjoy but clutch power and fit weren't good. I was going to try making a train car with a dome but the windows would need glued in place.
Redoing lego storage
Before
BeforeAfter:
I can't physically do the drawers for storage and organizing. Enter hardware cases. Eventually I could get tables in a u shape with the hardware carriers in addition to a few cabinets to use a chair. The plastic cabinets have to be braced as a small breeze could blow them over stacked. But some of the steel akro mills containers just need some bracing but are still stable.
I had to pour legos into the compartments of the trays but worried the cabinet where the drawer was pulled from would tip over.
So I changed the room storage as much as possible until I have help

Top 11 things to do with lego in 1975 ish
Top 11 things to do with lego in 1975 ish as a kid
1) use blocks to look like the logo on the box
There is no end to lego...an omen for afols2 take large red spoke wheels put on a green baseplate as a car
3 tow the blue car around living room (and untangle the string)
4 substitute the biplane yellow struts with minifigure heads and figure out why they are thin vs. fat
5 use hinge bricks and wind strings up and down
6 build and use forklift to launch bricks by using spring action of the forklift
7 put every black 2x2 with wheels on to a 2x8 beam and make it a catepillar or a massive truck
8 stack the blocks as high as possible
9 losing small pieces in shaggy carpet of 70s
10 trying to fit legos neatly back into the nifty comparments
11 perseverate on why you need and could build better with a motor
Ahh the good old days! Actually launching bricks from the forklifts spring action never gets old.
Tonights moc
I took a bag of 3 lego police cars I bought and made an moc. It was an el Camino and station wagon Combination.

Great new used lego store
Great new used lego idea
Big vs. Little taxi
Big vs. Little taxi
Being from the Midwest; taxis (and oceans!) are exciting things to see. Simultaneously I have always liked the song Big yellow taxi. Now when my wife took pics for me in New York of this life size lego taxi, the Lyrics of "paved paradise" and the excitement of seeing a real NY taxi fused together to bring together the. best of both. A "free" museum, a taxi indoors, paved paradise in the Lego store.
For now though I'll stay with riding the little yellow taxi! Much cheaper but life is not always "fare".

Beaten up boxes
I've only trouble getting a non beat up box from lego...it was an eiffel tower that had to be shipped back 2 times before a clean and non dented product.
Fast forward to the new galaxy explorer. People were getting beat up boxes and I just thought "how can a box in another shipping box get beat up.?"
Now I'm a believer in beat up boxes from the same store as other people complained about.
Non of the legos were hurt but can't they company attempt to deliver in better condition! Now I see why the 3 police cars were $6.99 vs. $9.99!
