Some minifigs i dont understand

 In recent years I've noticed the mini figs have changed.

If I knew what minifig I  would get, vs guessing, that would be ok but here's the ones that I wouldnt spend money on.

From a Newsweek special edition (cover pic from lego group 2023) there are mini figs that don't make sense to me.

Cake man, cactus and dragon drive me nuts.  So does hot dog man.  Cake man has bennys old face and blue spaceman has happy face.

I don't like the bearded alien either

The only mistake in the magazine was calling a picture inside the beta base and putting it as the beta 1 base

I liked this edition and thought the magazine was well written!

Favorite minifigs are old-school!

 

Qvc carrying legos

 I saw that qvc is selling legos

I looked at prices and right now they are same as kohls..target and Walmart. I'm holding out for pre or post holidays to see if they drop prices.

Best lego collection acquiring

 I have had some exciting deals for second hand legos.  Greatest acquisition from 2/12 to 2020

1) biggest acquisition 2014 ... I went to a garage sale where there was lego polybag turkeys.  In talking to the guy he said a basement full of legos.  I went the next day and he brought them.  The pieces were approx. 80% name Brand lego so I was disappointed as you never know if people are truly clueless vs lying about lego Brand content

2) a model train store opened but there were car sets, creator sets and technic sets.  I was thrilled.  I had to get rid of boxes since I ran out of room.  

3) thrift store small collection.  Some genius decided putting the legos in a tub with about 30 naked barbies so here I am digging through this tote and put the barbies aside..with  of weird looks

4) a flea market find.

5) a store in the mall where I got a great deal...owner had 80s figurines mostly.  I told him I was looking for legos  and he. Had just paid $400 for a tote but I talked him down to 220$

Over the years (18) I've been lucky finding good deals.

A really good knockoff i found

 I looked up galaxy explorer on Amazon and stumbled onto this set

I was surprised at the quality of the bricks.  The 2x1 brick feels slightly lighter than a lego but the clutch power and fit is really good.  This wouldbe great to make a classic space model.  Even the rod elements were straight without warping.  The translucent yellow pieces are handy too.

I got to see outdoor legos, BN legos and the lego store this date..close to my birthday 

My hotel was just a small distance so I used my scooter

Had to have help with standing to get the higher bricks

It felt good getting out on my scooter today

Tired of lego making bathrooms

It seems like lego is fixated on making toilets in bathrooms. I think this is disgusting and not funny.  Why not put the toilets in the adult sets vs. Kids sets

Pics from lego, lego catalog and kotaku website.  I just cannot believe lego would do that in a young adult set.  It is sick in my opinion.  I feel trust in lego content is gone.  As a final note, in a jurassic park set with a triceratops, they didn't have to show the feces in the movie

Appears neat above, but worried pieces are too specific i.e. windshield
