Interesting piece in my opinion

In the recent order of legos, I found a newer piece that I'd seen similar versions of in prior sets. ...a paddle.   I always thought the lights used (held by a person) to guide planes while parking and push back were neat

These minifigs and paddle with red were from a seattle visit years ago
I really didn't know this/version of this part was in the red Ferrari speed Champions.  I've never seen the building technique that it was used

I think this technique was so neat I had to get some more paddle pieces.

The only thing I wish I had done was to order the curved version also

From. Bricklink I found the prior versions of these, I'm glad the
current paddles have ways to interlock on both sides.

These paddles above don'

t have interlocking ability both sides, I like the new ones better with both sides useful...

yet another word learned from lego

I found a piece of lego that I like to incorporate...it is called a balustrade...

So the vertical part is the baluster or spindle, and the balustrade is the horizontal and vertical part together

This piece can be used decoratively, protectively or structurally.

1) protection

1) protection
It is a versatile piece and at first glance most people would think of it as protection

I have a bunch of these mixed in with my bars and clips

Great piece for making a barrier!

Good for side rails on a staircase to the plane!  Protective use!

Massive airport barrier esp when stacked vertically...to protect the people inside...

Yet another role as concert or skatepark barrier to keep people on the outside

Or to keep you from driving off the top of the garage!

2) structurally

I really like the use of the balustrade structurally side by side as the base of a cart...genius!

Also as a drop down bar on the side of a trailer
This picture is such a neat trailer...

3) decorative

The main example of a decorative use is in the set below in metallic silver

Also, it is included in decorative fence specialty pack

Per bricklink, it is in 139 sets in the colors below

So here's to a very versatile piece!  And a complex word I'd never heard before!
