Good measurements to know

 Ok, I just wanted to try sounding smart so I found some lego measurements that real pros use 

The following pics are the best summary of Ldraw and mm measurements

L Draw units are 1.6mm each
These measurements are what are needed to make Bitbeam, a form of custom made technic beam
Now I need to learn 3d printing!!!!


Slight variations in 3/16 =4.78 but below=5mm
3/32=2.38mm but below 2.5mm
1/8"=3.18mm or 3mm below
7/32"=5.56mm or 5.7 below


Now I see why the pics from my 9/7/21 blog entry makes sense
1/8" = 3.18mm= hand grip=that's why the hand felt so tight, it could be 3mm to 3.18mm


7/32=5.7mm to 5.6mm around a 4.8mm stud that dropped to 3.0mm in the tube


3/16 =4.78 but below=5mm
4.8 is the size of the hole so 3/16 went in perfectly

So hopefully I sound smart ha ha! Or confusing as heck
But now I see why there are both metrics and non metric displays at hardware and hobby stores.

A topic Ive wanted to get a-round to!

 I've got a few 32x32 gray baseplates that I would like to make into classic space landing pads.  I couldnt figure out how I could use square bricks to make a circle...but I found some charts from pinterest and other sites.  

Here's the 3 versions of baseplates..from Ebay and bricklink 








I put a few of the same pics due to some part numbers are listed for reference

Here's the charts I found to make the baseplates..



I think that the 26 circle would be similar to these baseplates to fit in the center of the 32x32 plate.  The circle starts 3 studs in each side so 32-6=26.  With small curved 1x1 dot pieces the circle could be smoothed out.  If my calculations are wrong, that will really throw a curve at me!
