Speed Champions

I'm Having trouble building speed Champions.

I built the speed Champions newer sets and most people love them but I had trouble putting them together.  To reduce tightness And pushing together, the pieces on the other side of the car fall off as they arent locked at times.

The pieces that are small are hard to determine the chirality of.  I feel like I'm trying to determine molecular structure with a model set while using then in a game of tetris.  The pieces that are 1/4 size of a dot piece are hard to apply esp to small sections that are built.  The small fender pieces fall off.  I can't get the Lamborghini front to stay on and the Ferrari was very difficult.  The pieces are hard to pick up like a coin on a table.  The 007 car canopy won't stay on. (76911 set)

007 Aston-Martin

I don't claim to be the best or the fastest builder but I wouldn't call the cars relaxing to build.  I think I'm old school where plates stack, headlight bricks were the thing, cars were studded ie police station.

Here's places I think it's hard to see instructions in the 007 car

 Lego speed Champions

Another problem I have is clipping subunits to bars...pieces fall off...i.e. ferrari (set 76914)

Also in the set 76914 above

I cannot get the black clips to attach to the gold oval 1x2 pieces and stay on in set 76915

Lego Lamborghini
Above 2 pics show black clips attach to the gold bars vertically 76915

And pieces i.e. the small silver pin pieces fall off as below...see step 3 below

The same problem occurred putting the 007 car together (not shown) 76911

Another place where pieces keep falling off during the build is as below in set 76914

Those pieces are hard to keep on and small to hold.  Additional small subunits pieces are noted in set 76914

Hard to hold while assembling above as it falls apart if pieces are not tight together.

I think the lighting, fat fingers, too much force pushing, small pieces are just hard to do...obviously I'm not one of the quick builders.  I don't blame lego, it's just me.  Any tips or similar experiences would be appreciated in the comments section.

All i ever learned from lego i learned from 007

 I love the speed Champions.

Recently I was able to obtain multiple sets of the 007 car.  I put together 7 as I thought the silver pieces would eventually be able to be used to make the silver train cars I missed out on

1st lesson:  The first thing that happened was that several clips in 1 set were broken

I couldn't believe multiple bricks were broken but lego will help I'm sure.

2nd lesson: in this step, the 1 silver disc was missing but there was an extra black one
I've never had a missing piece before!

3rd lesson: a good thing that came from reading the internet was using a brick separator for applying decals.
I.e. below Without separator to apply decal

With the separator: license plate and trunk logo much better placement without wrinkles due to having to remove and place decal better

4th lesson
Extra light as pictured can help see steps

From qvc website Above
Light helpful for i.e. these two steps below

5th lesson:  I always thought it was cheating using the rotating/flipping instructions as well as picking the pieces up without using the too box with bricks needed for that step.

6...for 2 units right and left, nothing is wrong with laying them out so it is not confusing.  Initially they look the same

7th lesson.  If 2 pieces are attached by clips, don't push hard to connect.  Also if pieces/assembly of parts won't connect straight on, try starting to connect with a 20 degree angle i.e. 2 examples Below

The 2 clips above attach hood to car but needs gentle straight on pressure
Example 2 of above is attaching trunk pieces to brown paddle pieces

8)  items with clips can be reversed easily by mistake

9 dont assume symmetry of pieces i.e. seats side to side i.e. front seats construction 2 pics below

Example 2 a 4x1 and 3x1 piece vs.  2 3x1 pieced below

10 it all comes down to attention to detail.. the light really helps.  Hopefully these tips will help people!

Missing toys r us

Missing toys r us.

I used to love going to toys r us.  The sets that didnt even appeal to me in the catalog looked so appealing when you could look at the boxes and sides to see some of the features you couldn't see in a catalog.
I always loved the acrylic covered displays that made the sets featured so much more vivid.  Esp. Speed Champions towards the time when tru closed

Sunday always had the circulars in the paper

And I thought this truck like the yellow model was so neat, esp. The small lego boxes

Our toys r us didn't have the fancy lego cube hanging

Really liked the arctic displays, I thought it was such a cool theme!

Toys r us was so hit and miss...sometimes I scoffed at the costs, then other times I had unbelievable luck finding clearance items at an unreal good price.

But then, to my excitement, I read tru was making a comeback...

Unfortunately near me, the picture below is more how situation hours from me
